What the COPOMIS training covered
COPOMIS, the Cooperative Sector Information System, is the online system developed by the Department of Cooperatives to keep cooperative records in a central national database. Cooperatives are expected to keep their member, share and financial information up to date in it.
The training introduced board members and managers to COPOMIS and the practical steps of using it:
- How COPOMIS works and why it matters for cooperatives
- Entering and updating member profiles and share records
- Recording financial information and generating reports
- Keeping reporting regular and in line with regulatory requirements
Why it matters for boards and managers
Managers do the day-to-day data entry, but board members are responsible for oversight. When both understand COPOMIS, records stay accurate, reporting is on time and members can trust the information their cooperative keeps.
Deumai Municipality followed this program with a larger hands-on COPOMIS training for 25 cooperatives in June 2026, and also hosted the Ajambare Tea Producers Cooperative training.
