Ilam Municipality hosted a one-day training for cooperative managers and board (BOD) members at Ilam Bazar. Hemant Nepal facilitated the session on the collateral auction process.
Training at a glance
- Organiser: Ilam Municipality
- Location: Ilam Bazar, Ilam Municipality, Koshi Province
- Date: 2 April 2026 (1 day)
- Participants: Cooperative managers and BOD members
- Topic: Collateral auction process
- Trainer: Hemant Nepal

What the training covered
When a loan goes bad, a cooperative may need to recover it by auctioning the collateral. This is a sensitive step: it affects a member’s property, the cooperative’s finances and its reputation in the community.
The session walked managers and board members through the collateral auction process step by step, so that decisions are taken carefully, documented properly and handled fairly for both the cooperative and the borrower.
Why it matters
Clear procedures for loan recovery protect the savings of every member. Boards and managers who understand the process can act with confidence, and with less risk of disputes.
